These Fruity Pebble Treats are a color and fruity version of the classic Rice Krispie Treats! These treats are not only delicious but also super easy to make, making them a perfect project for kids or a fun make-ahead treat for any party.

Why you'll love them:

  • Easy: These treats come together in just a few minutes with only 5 ingredients!
  • No-Bake: No need to heat up the oven; all you need is a stovetop or microwave!
  • Delicious: These are fruity, gooey marshmallows, and are super nostalgic and delicious.

Ingredients

fruity pebbles treats ingredients.
  • Fruity Pebbles: These are Fruity Pebbles treats, so the Fruity Pebbles are the star of the show, but for a less sweet option, you can substitute half of the Fruity Pebbles cereal with regular Rice Krispies.
  • Mini Marshmallows: You can substitute large marshmallows if desired.
  • Butter: If using salted butter, omit the added salt in the recipe.

How to Make

Step 1: Melt Butter and Marshmallows

melting marshmallows and butter.

Melt the Butter: In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.

Add Marshmallows: Add the mini marshmallows to the melted butter, and continue cookie on low, making sure to stir continuously until fully melted and smooth (about 3-5 minutes).

Mix in Vanilla and Salt: Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

Step 2: Add Cereal

adding cereal.

Remove the pan from the heat and gently fold in the Fruity Pebbles cereal. Ensure all the cereal pieces are evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.

Step 3: Add to pan

adding mixture to pan.

Add to Pan: Working quickly so the cereal doesn't start to firm up, pour the mixture into an 8×8 or 9×9 inch pan that is lined with parchment paper and butter or non-stick cooking spray. Press it down evenly using a spatula or lightly greased hands.

Pro Tip: Cover your hands or the spatula in butter or a neutral flavored oil. This will help ensure the cereal doesn't stick!

Step 4: Chill, Cut, and Enjoy!

Cool and Cut: Allow the treats to cool completely in the pan for about an hour before cutting them into squares. You can also let them firm up in the fridge Then enjoy!

Tips and Tricks

  • You can use large marshmallows in place of mini marshmallows.
  • Lightly grease your hands or a rubber spatula with nonstick cooking spray or butter to prevent the mixture from sticking while pressing it into the pan.
  • You can also make these in a 9×13-inch pan, which will make thinner treats.
  • For extra marshmallowy treats, use closer to 8 cups cereal. For more traditional treats, use 10 cups.
  • For a fun variation, you can fold in an extra cup of whole mini marshmallows, white chocolate chips, or M&Ms.
  • Store your Fruity Pebbles Krispies Treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
