Homemade Lucky Charms treats are a fun, no-bake treat made with gooey marshmallows and crunchy cereal. Easy to make and perfect for any sweet snack!

Lucky Charms marshmallow treats are a fun and nostalgic twist on classic Rice Krispie treats! Made with melted marshmallows and Lucky Charms cereal, they’re a quick and easy no-bake dessert that everyone will love. Whether you’re making them for St. Patrick’s Day, a bake sale, just for fun, these sweet and chewy bars are always a hit. Here’s why you’ll love them:
- Super Easy to Make: Just a few ingredients and 10 minutes of prep—no baking required!
- Fun and Colorful: The bright marshmallows make these treats as pretty as they are delicious (and nostalgic!).
- Perfect for Any Occasion: Great for St. Patrick’s Day, birthdays, or whenever you want an easy sweet snack on hand.
Ingredients
- Lucky Charms Cereal: The star of the recipe, adding crunch and fun colorful marshmallows. You can use regular name brand, or generic. They both work fine.
- Marshmallows: Mini marshmallows melt down a littler easier, but you can also use regular size (or even jumbo, if that is what you have on hand).
- Butter: Salted butter helps balance the sweetness, but you can use unsalted butter as well. Just add a tiny pinch of salt to the marshmallows when melting down.
- Extra Lucky Charms Marshmallows (optional): Did you know you can buy just the lucky charms marshmallows?? They are great for topping these cereal bars. But, you can also pick them out of the cereal. Or skip the extra marshmallows altogether, it’s up to you! The lucky charms bars will still be delicious.
How to Make
Similar to fruity pebbles treats or cornflake candy, these are so simple to make! Seriously, they take less than 15 minutes of active time. So easy!
Step 1: Melt and Mix
Melt butter and marshmallows together. Then, mix in your cereal. Be sure to work quickly as the marshmallow mixture will start to set as it cools, and can make the treats hard to work with.
Step 2: Set and Enjoy!
Add to a prepared baking pan, and if desired add extra Lucky Charms marshmallows to the top, gently pressing in so they stick. Let set at least two hours at room temperature. Then, slice up and enjoy!
Pro Tips:
- Work Quickly! The main reason these won’t turn out is that the marshmallow mixture gets too cool before the cereal has been mixed it and added to the pan.
- You can also melt the butter and marshmallows in the microwave by heating for 1 minute, then heating and stirring in 15 second intervals until melted.
- This recipe can be doubled for a 9 x 13 inch pan.
- For fun variations, add melted white chocolate on top of the set cereal bars, or mix in an extra cup of mini marshmallows or white chocolate chips with the cereal. Yum! And, for St. Patrick’s Day, add a few drops of green food coloring to the melted marshmallows. So fun!
- These marshmallow treats will last up to three days in an airtight container at room temperature. You can also freeze the treats for up to two months, but the texture might change a bit once frozen.
