This no-bake fall Chex mix with candy corn is an easy and crowd-pleasing fall snack mix you can make in 5 minutes!

fall Chex mix in individual serving bowl.

This no-bake fall Chex mix recipe is such a fun and easy snack mix.  This autumn inspired snack mix goes by many names: fall harvest Chex mix, fall snack mix, fall party mix, harvest crunch, sweet and salty fall snack mix, you get the idea.   But, one thing remains the same – it's sweet, salty, crunchy, and super delicious!

Similar to candy corn popcorn, it's a no-bake fall treat that is super easy and super customizable. In addition to being a delicious snack to have around the house,  it's always a crowd pleasing hit at fall parties, Thanksgiving, and game days.

Why you'll love it:

  • Easy: This is a no-bake fall Chex mix recipe so you can have a batch ready in less than 5 minutes!
  • Customizable: You can make this party snack mix how ever you want! Add M&Ms, chopped up candy bars, nuts, whatever you want is all delicious!
  • Fun: It's such a fun fall themed party mix! Not only it is fun to make, it visually just screams fall and is perfect for parties, sharing, and gifting!

Ingredients

fall Chex mix ingredients.
  • Chex Mix: I used the honey nut flavor of Chex Mix, but there are many fun pre-seasoned flavors such as maple brown sugar or cinnamon you can choose from!
  • Candy Corn: This adds a fun fall flare to the mix, you can use traditional candy corn, or my favorite the mixed bag with pumpkins.
  • Pretzels: I used peanut butter pretzels for a savory and crunchy bite, but any type of pretzels work. Chocolate covered pretzels would also be fun!
  • Reese's Pieces: You can easily substitute M&Ms, or your favorite chocolate chips such as semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, etc.
  • Cheese Crackers: I used gold fish crackers (these red, yellow, and green goldfish add a fun fall color palette!) but you can use your favorite cheese cracker such as Cheez Its or Ritz Bits.

Other Mix-In Ideas: Other fun ideas to include are dried coconut, dried fruit like dried apples, raisins, or cranberries, nuts such as peanuts, or candied almonds or candied pepitas. Or, mini marshmallows,  Bugle chips, or popped popcorn (caramel corn would be great!).

How to Make

As a no-bake Chex mix this is so simple! Put it all in a bowl and gently mix. That's it!

mixing fall chex mix.

Variations:

  • Trail Harvest Mix: Add in M&Ms, peanuts, raisins, and granola!
  • S'mores Snack Mix: Add in chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, and Teddy Graham or Golden Grahams cereal.
  • Fall Harvest Chex Mix: add in dried or dehydrated apple and/or pear slices.
  • Halloween: add in your bite size pieces of your favorite halloween candy, and/or gummy worms, bats, and eyes.

Tips and Tricks

  • Be sure to mix gently as the Chex mix cereal and crackers break easily!
  • Feel free to mix up the measurements, if you love Reece's pieces, add more. Not a huge fan of candy corn? Only add ½ cup or skip it all together.
  • Mix and match your favorite toppings! You can add as many types of chocolate pieces, pretzels, and crackers, and mix-ins as you'd like.
  • This recipe makes about 10 cups of snack mix but can be halved for small batch or doubled or tripped for a large batch as needed.

Serving and Gifting

This fall Chex mix is perfect for Thanksgiving or Autumn parties, and holiday movie nights! Like most snack mixes, there are tons of fun ways to serve or gift it:

  • Bags: I prefer clear plastic bags because you can see the snack mix, but, you can also use bakery bags, or these cute fall treat bags.
  • Boxes: popcorn boxes (especially these fall themed ones!) are so cute and perfect for serving at a movie night instead of popcorn!
  • Tins: These decorative tins are so cute and festive! Plus, the tins keep the Chex mix fresh and they are a great option for shipping and the least likely to get damaged in transport.

Storing and Making Ahead

This fall Chex mix will last up to two weeks in an airtight container at room temperature, very tightly sealed.  The better the seal, the longer it will last and stay fresh and the less chance of going stale.  You can also freeze in an airtight container 2-3 months.
