This delicious cream cheese chocolate chip dip is a sweet and creamy dip that tastes like chocolate chip cheesecake, it a bowl!

Similar to Oreo dip, it's often served as an appetizer or snack at parties and holiday gatherings.  Why you'll love it:

  • It's easy – just 5 minutes to make!
  • It's delicious – if you like chocolate chip cheesecake, you'll adore this dip!
  • It's versatile – this dip is perfect for so many occasions and pairs well with an endless variety of snacks such as vanilla wafers, graham crackers, and fruit!

Some people even call it chocolate chip crack dip, it's that good.  So, skip the savory pretzel cheese dip and try making this tasty and sweet party dip recipe instead!

Ingredients

chocolate chip cheesecake dip ingredients.
  • Chocolate chips: you can mini or regular chocolate chips, or chocolate chunks or chopped up chocolate bars. Even white chocolate chips or M&Ms would be delicious.
  • Cream Cheese: I recommend brick cream cheese for the best results. Some people have had success substituting mascarpone for the cream cheese so it's similar to a cannoli dip, although I haven't personally tried it.

How to Make

Step 1: Mix Cheesecake Dip

In a large bowl add the softened cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, brown sugar, salt, and vanilla. Mix until creamy, about 1-2 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula as necessary.

Step 2: Fold in Chocolate Chips

Step 3: Enjoy!

Serve with strawberries, vanilla wafers, and cookies and enjoy!

Fun Variations

  • Mint Chocolate Chip: add in ¼ tsp peppermint extract to the cheesecake mixture. You can also add a few drops of green food coloring.
  • Double Chocolate Chip:  Add in ¼ cup cocoa powder with the powdered sugar.
  • Booty Dip: The viral tik tok booty dip is very similar. You can make it by mixing in one jar of marshmallow fluff to the dip.

You can also add in caramel, nuts, and anything else you think would be delicious!

Tips and Tricks

  • Make sure the cream cheese and butter are at room temperature so they properly mix together.
  • This recipe makes about 2 cups of dip and can easily be halved for a small batch or doubled for a large batch.

Yes, this dip can be made up to 2 days ahead of time as long as it's stored in an airtight container in the fridge.  Let soften at room temperature before serving.

What should I serve this with this party dip?

This dip goes great with so many dippers! Pretzels, vanilla wafers, graham crackers, animal crackers, strawberries, apple slices, broken pieces of waffle cones, Scooby snacks (the cinnamon crackers, not the Scooby snack drink!) and any and all types cookies. Use your imagination and go with what you like and think would pair well.

When should I serve this dip?

This dish is a staple at BBQs, potlucks, family gatherings, game days, and super bowl parties. It's commonly found at Easter buffets, and at Thanksgiving and Christmas parties as well!

You can even use it as a topping for brownies or cake filling if you want to get creative.

Storing Dip

The prepared dip will last 2 days in the fridge in an airtight container.

The dip can be frozen up to a month as well in a ziplock freezer bag or airtight container. If frozen, let thaw in the fridge. For both refrigerated and frozen dip, let soften at room temperature and before serving.
