Swiss Meringue Buttercream

This tutorial shows you how to make Swiss meringue buttercream frosting, which uses egg whites to make a silky smooth frosting with a light touch of sweetness.  This frosting recipe is perfect for decorating cakes, cupcakes, and for filling macarons and other desserts!

Ingredients

Sugar Egg Whites Butter Vanilla Extract Salt

Heat Egg Whites & Sugar

Add the egg whites and sugar to a double broiler  and heat until sugar is dissolved

Beat Egg White Sugar Mixture

Whisk the mixture until it cools down  and a meringue forms 

Mix In Butter

Once cooled, mix in butter one tablespoon at a time 

Mix Until Combined

It might start to look curdled, that’s fine! Just keep mixing.

Add Flavors and  Remix

Add vanilla and salt and mix until combined
